Tell us what is in the load
Count whole sheets where you can, or give the number of bags of offcuts. Mention attached insulation, tiles, timber or other material rather than describing everything as clean board. A close photo and a wider view will help the team understand what needs collecting.
Keep the material separate
Cornwall Council's plasterboard guidance says it must be kept separate from other materials for its disposal service. The same practical starting point helps a private collection: identify the board before it becomes buried in general rubble. Ask us about preparation when you book rather than breaking it up unnecessarily.
DIY and trade disposal are different
If you plan to take your own household DIY waste to a recycling centre instead, check the council's current accepted sites, allowances and access rules first. For trade waste, check the commercial arrangements. Empire's private collection is quoted for the actual material and job; council allowances are not our prices.
Questions about plasterboard collection
Can I put plasterboard in my normal rubbish bin?
Cornwall Council says plasterboard is not collected with normal household rubbish or recycling. Arrange a suitable separate disposal route.
Can you collect small amounts of plasterboard?
Send the amount and your postcode for a quote. The team can confirm collection availability for your job.
Is plasterboard disposal free?
Empire provides a job-specific private collection quote. Council DIY allowances are a separate service with their own conditions; check the current council guidance.
